Introducing Ladybird, our newest guest

We'd like to introduce you to a lovely Basset/Beagle Gal named Ladybird who is staying with us for a few days. She's wonderfully affectionate, low-maintenance and enjoys playing with both Stella & Bailey.

Ladybird really enjoys the 'treat ball'. She eats her meals by pushing it around as the kibble rolls out

At the end of the day, the hounds rested :)

Help Your K9 Be Visible and Be Seen At Night

I would imagine all you pet parents like myself, want to take every precaution necessary when it is dark outside or when weather conditions are less than clear. Sometimes we only think that it is ourselves who need to be wearing some type of reflective gear but let's take every precaution we can to also have our canines as visible as possible as well.

pet light

Try this lightweight spotlit that can be visible up to 1000 ft either flashing or a steady light

Try this lightweight, durable collar so that your canine can be seen up to 100 ft away.
Besides visibility during evening walks, this is a  great precaution in the event Fido bolts out the door or yard without notice.

Our Saturday with Lucy

We had Lucy the doberman puppy over for the day for daycare. Unfortunately for Lucy, she had been attacked by a neighborhood dog this week and incurred a neck and ear injury so she is wrapped up and has an Elizabethan collar on, which of course, inhibits a lot of interaction she would normally do. I could still throw a ball for her and play with her, however Bailey was pretty nervous around her so their interaction was limited.

Bailey was excited to have Lucy to play with but at the same time was a bit intimidated by the cone

Bailey is thinking about it...

She enjoyed time in the yard

We wish Lucy a speedy recovery and to return to play in full personality and energy!

First Blog Post in 30 days!!

My oh my, I see my last posting was December 5th!!!
December was a very full month of petsitting, boarding and photography.
As well, my husband and I took a mini getaway in the Florida Keys for the first time!

I had an absolute blast taking Christmas photos for our Pet Parents, both cats & dogs!

See some examples right HERE on our blog.

December was fun as we met and gained a new pet patron, 1 yr old Barkley the Golden Retriever. Now she really livened up the place!!

She was a sweetie and enjoyed walks with us and playtime in the yard with ball and frisbee.

Then just this week, we had precious Lucy the 4 month old Doberman pup stay with us overnight.

Here Lucy meets the weekday gang

Stay tuned; I've got tons of photos and videos to post........it all just takes time!

We All Share!

Yesterday for our Facebook timeline photo, I posted this photo of my Bailey:

and stated how he is such a bed-hog when other dogs come for sleepovers. He is very quick to settle into another dogs bed or kennel, as he did here on November 22 in Lyra's bed & kennel.

Here's 2 more photos of his settlin'-in:

Quite relaxed, wouldn't you say?

...and not one bit of guilt over it either....

I don't want to give the impression that Bailey just takes over when other dogs are present. While he is bed & toy possessive, he's also very non-chalant about other dogs in his sleeping spaces or playing with his toys.

Today, case-in-point: Both Lyra & Stella, 2 of our regular daytime attendees, felt very much at home in Bailey's kennel which is situated in our dining room area. It always has the door open so any K9 can use it.

Perhaps it is the very cushy comforter which is what makes it so inviting: :)

The Girls had spent most of morning outside so now we kickin' back

Then just a few moments ago, Stella was doing the ZZZZZ's and Lyra just crawled in too!
Funny Girls!

And, as previously stated, Bailey freely shares his toys, like this 16 squeaker serpent that Lyra really enjoys! :)
